About Us

Troop 618 has been a chartered member of the Boy Scouts and generously sponsored by the Trinity Presbyterian Church since 1956, 59 years and counting! It is rumored that the Troop was actually chartered before 1956, but the records have been lost. We have proudly supported 44 Eagle Scouts in recent memory.

We are proud to be a Boy-Lead Troop with many fun-filled activities through the year. Several Adult Leaders have been with the Troop for over 10 years and enjoy working with the Scouts supporting the youth in their growth as young adults and leaders.

Troop Meetings
We meet Tuesday nights at 7:30pm in the Social Hall of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

The boy's plan activities for each month. We camp and backpack through out the year along with other types of trips based on what the Scout's have chosen. Usually there is one Big Trip planned each year. In the past, the Troop has had ski trips, overnighters on the USS Hornet & Alcatraz, a train trip to Sacramento with a stay in a Hostel near the Capitol and White Water Rafting. We attend a week long Summer Camp each year rotating to different camps including our local camp, Pico Blanco.

The Youth Leaders plan activities to help the younger Scouts learn the skills to advance during Troop Meetings and on outings.

Community Service
We participate in numerous volunteer activities including working with the Santa Cruz County Food Bank, the Live Oak Grange, the Elks Club, Grey Bears and our Charter Organization, Trinity Presbyterian Church.

The Troop plans affordable activities with a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser in the fall that boys can participate in to support their attendance.

Adult Participation
The success of our sons in Scouting requires our committment and support. We ask that at least one parent volunteers to help in some capacity. We give the support our boys need while keeping the Troop Boy-Lead. It is rewarding to see our boys grow and become young men that we can be proud of.
